About This Site This is a social studies project that I am doing for my fourth grade class. Of course, I didn't do the whole thing by myself, my dad helped me. First, I collected information from a book. After that, I looked on the internet and found some more information and some pictures. Then I wrote a biography of Raleigh's life. I found the fact about him being beheaded just because King James I did not like him very interesting because I did not know that kings and queens had that much power. My dad took me down to the statue of Sir Walter Raleigh, located in Raleigh, North Carolina, and took some pictures of me and the statue. Since he has a digital camera, it was easy to put them onto the computer. After all of that was done, I started to create the website with my dad. I put it together as a timeline and made a list of important dates in Raleigh's life. I typed everything in ClarisWorks on my iMac and saved it as an HTML document. HTML means Hyper Text Markup Language which are the tags that tell the browser what to do. Each date is a link which leads to a page about that date. On most of the pages, there is a picture that has something to do with what the date is about. Thanks for visiting my site! I hope you enjoy it!
